Texas A&M ProComm

Texas A&M ProComm is a professional organization open to all communicators

I was reading in the Chronicle of Higher Ed about the hundred universities that are signed up on youtube's new college and university section so, as is my wont, I clicked and went to it, expecting to see Texas A&M prominently displayed. Much to my chagrin, I saw Harvard, MIT and Texas Tech, Princeton, UCLA and Georgia Tech and 94 others, but no sign of TAMU.

I know we're trying to stay on top of everything social media-wise, so I'm thinking we need to be on youtube.com/edu. Don't get me wrong. I know we're on youtube. But you have to know to look for us; we should be in the /edu section. Just a general post to alert whomever; I'm sure it must be one of you guys who handles these things!

It's hard to get in, but we were approved to join http://www.youtube.com/edu yesterday. John is excited about customizing it.

Of course... in all honesty, it really doesn't matter if we're one of those partner schools or not until we have videos that folks that people are actually watching. Content wise Purdue is making national news just because they have a pair of guys that yell compliments at folks between classes once a week.

Kinda makes me wish we had a small video team, that just followed a student twitter account of spontaneous things on campus - or had a facebook account or something to pass on rumors of things happening in advance.
